A small group of HAMs met today to test 122 GHz transverters. We now have multiple stations with one or more operational transverters. One of todays tests was to compare the versions using a horn antenna with the once with a dish antenna. After some experiments with different 10 MHz reference oscillators we ended up with all units using GPS locked references. We will need to find a good location where we can slowly increase the distance between two stations while we continue to make adjustments to the placement of the feed horn compared to the dish to find the optimal location. In Today's test we had a distance of 40 feet and S9+ signals - promising.
